We're Diane and Emily.
We share a lot of things: a love of NYC, the ability to spend hours in a fabric store, an eye for design, a disdain of vertical blinds, and most notably, our DNA.
Diane has over 20 years experience working with residential and corporate clients. She lives in Connecticut but moonlights in New York City. She loves keeping traditional design current and can work wonders with a tape measure, graph pad, and her deck of paint chips. You'll most likely find her with her husband Jim, visiting their children and grandchildren, buried in a DIY home project, or on the golf course.
Emily graduated with a BFA in Interior Design from Harrington College of Design in Chicago. She worked as a visual stylist at West Elm for several years and as an Art and Style Manager for a restaurant group in New York City. She loves modern design and fashion with a vintage twist. You'll most likely find her with her husband Kyle sharing a drink in the East Village, restyling their apartment, or walking home with their latest antique store gem.
It's our shared love of all things home that brings us together, and our different but complementary taste that keeps us on our toes.
Rehabitat has been featured on many respected design blogs and websites such as Design*Sponge, Houzz, One King's Lane, Apartment Therapy, West Elm's Front + Main, Architectural Digest, and Style Me Pretty Living.
What our clients have said:
"Diane and Emily are the best! I’ve wanted to redesign these rooms for years and I could not have done it without them. They offered the natural talent and the professional knowledge to help me achieve the look I was searching for. . . I truly could not have achieved this without you!" -Dawn
"You listened well to our ideas about the room, but also helped us to step outside our comfort zone in some areas. The result is a more functional and stylish room than we could have come up with on our own! You both made the process fun, and we couldn't be happier with the finished product." -Jenn
"Working with Emily and Diane has been a wonderful experience. Offering a rehab box made interior design affordable to me for the first time. . . . I went ahead with your entire design and couldn't be happier about the results! Even my reluctant, and sometimes stubborn husband was happy that he agreed to your recommendations! You were considerate to work within my budget, and always careful not to push any of your ideas on me. . . now just thinking of the next rooms I can have you do!" -Linda
"Emily and Diane have helped me with several projects, all which transformed our house not only into the beautiful space we desired but also remained highly personal to both our style and personalities. . . They have a vision for a space that enables them to match pieces from a huge variety of sources to create a truly one-of-a-kind space, complete the projects with ease virtually and stay within budget!" -Steph
" Rehabitat was so easy and fun to work with. After living in our house for almost a year, I was still at a loss for how to decorate our living room space. They came up with a great floor plan, one that was both functional and unique. They also provided me with wonderful ideas for decorating the space, using what we had and incorporating new pieces that fit our taste. Even though we live states away, the communication (both email and pone conversation) with Rehabitat made me feel like I was working with someone local and also gave me confidence in the process. All together, they were a delight to work with. " -Jill
