before + after: a quaint living room

Dearest readers, it has been a while. It feels so good to be busy but it hurts so bad to ignore you. We've had this dramatic before and after post on deck for a while- forgive us for not sharing sooner! Our friend and client, Linda, (check out her family room here) was ready to upgrade her living room, so she hired us to do a Rehab Box. We encouraged her to lighten the walls, whitewash her stone fireplace, replace her mantle, and refresh her furniture. The result is fresh, clean and cozy. Thanks again Linda for being such a sweet and fun client to work for. Enjoy! -d+e

repinned: christmas decorations

Happy Thanksgiving, friends! But on to our favorite holiday...Christmas! It's the best time of the year. We cozy up, drink warm things, sit in candle and twinkle light and watch White Christmas on repeat while making/wrapping gifts. So in extreme anticipation of decorating and setting the mood, I've been pinning inspiration out the wazoo. Last year, Kyle and I just had a tree and that was it! Not this year, my friends. No, this year there will be wreaths, garland and lots o' candles. And since we don't have a fireplace mantle situation in this city apartment of ours, I'll have to get creative. So, for your viewing pleasure: a taste of our favorite ideas-inducing Christmas decorations below and our Christmas Pinterest board for even more. Enjoy!

We were thrilled when our good friends turned clients called upon Rehabitat to help with their living room. Great style is not uncommon in their Indy household that is filled with Mid-Century antique finds, inherited Native American art, and family handcrafted carpentry. BONUS points for one cute-@$$ bulldog named Louie! (You can see more photos here and their equally fun dining room here.)

Mitch had all the great bones to a room - a lovely sofa, 2 cozy leather chairs, an oversized coffee table - but it was feeling bare. We were happy to help with some finishing touches! A graphic rug, fun firewood storage, a colorful lamp, and a great bookshelf were a few things we recommended to transform the room. (The natural light adds to the drama of the before & after but SHHHH, thats a secret!) See more photos here!
