emily's apt on design*sponge

Hey Friends! Just a quick post to mention that the lovely Design*Sponge graciously featured my (Emily's) Jersey City apartment! I've been meaning to shoot our home of 4 years for about 3 years now, so it's such a relief to check it off the list! We thought we'd share the photos here and you can also read more about it here (and see the floor plan if you so desire). Enjoy! (OH and in case you didn't know, there's two of us that make up Rehabitat, the other being Diane. She also has a beautiful home so we should work on sharing it on the blog too!)

rehab box: michigan living and dining

If you're new to our blog, welcome! We've been overwhelmed by all the support lately and have been pinching ourselves that we get to do what we love AND inspire others. I (Emily) have been REALLY BAD at blogging consistently, which is great because it means we're busy, but would be really great if I could find time to post more often. How does everyone do it?! Ideally, this blog would just blog itself. When's that app coming?

We thought today seemed like a good day to share a little more from our Rehab Box collections. These two boxes were for our kitty loving, whiskey collecting clients, Priya and Fraser, based in Michigan and are two of our favorites! They have great taste, a love for vintage and mid-century accent pieces, and were all around awesome to work with. Wanting to be more hands on and not quite ready to commit to a full service designer, the box was a perfect fit for them.

Check out our Rehab Box options (some might call it e-design) and see how you can get in on the action! We're in the NYC area but you don't have to be. We can work with you no matter where you live- except if you live in Hawaii, we'll have to come take measurements.

In other news, we have 2 new projects to photograph in the next couple weeks which we're totally excited to share, and I just finished shooting our place which you can see sneak peaks of on instagram to be featured on a major blog near you. Happy Friday everyone!

In Progress: Leah's Dining Room

You can now subscribe to our blog! Just submit your email below.

Our VERY kind and sweet client, Leah, agreed to let us share in progress images of her dining room, which we are happy to say is moving along quite nicely.

Her quaint 1940's home oozes vintage charm with arched doorways and original wood floors but the existing dining room corner cabinets were not a favorite. SO. After a back and forth about possible demo and construction and completely new cabinets and built ins and doors, etc, etc, etc, we decided to keep it simple, take the doors off and make it work. And it did! Painting everything the same color and adding paneling to distract from some of the inconsistent lines makes the room feel larger and more cohesive. Our notes above highlight more plans for the room that we are excited to post once completed! Thanks to Leah for allowing us to share and for being a dream client!
